Site specific installation for Miami Herbert Business School

University of Miami Business School commissioned native Miami artist Cristina Lei Rodriguez to create a site specific installation integrating the building's architecture and the natural landscape. Rodriguez collected leaves and flowers from the flamboyant Royal Poinciana tree, including material collected onsite at the Business School, to make abstract compositions on her scanner that are the digital images that wrap the columns. The flowers and leaves where deconstructed, examined and sorted as strategy to study nature, and make abstract art that inspires a shift in perspective. The images transition from arrangements of primarily green leaves to red orange flower petals, and are blown up to where a 2 inch flower petal is now 2 feet in size.
